While competing for Flinders AC in the eighties I informally coached athletes from time to time. When I moved to Canberra I coached at the Australian National University (1987-1989) and completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sports Studies (Sports Coaching) at the University of Canberra (1990-1992). Enjoyed my practical placement with legendary distance coach Pat Clohesy at the Australian Institute of Sport and did some further informal coaching. I have returned to coaching at Flinders in 2015 following the passing of club legend Toby Schreier. Now in my third year and enjoying being part of such a great club.
I coach sprinters, middle & long distance, cross-country, road and recreational runners.
As an athlete I represented both SA and ACT on track and road. My track PBs are 800m (1.53.6), 1500m (3.51.8) and 5000m (14.26).
