My name is Jonathan Martin, my aim is to bring joy and passion in to running by working on the natural aspects and bringing the lost art back to the modern day, my coaching style is about health and well being before performance. Many coaches focus on speed and winning races, I want to teach the fundamentals of good running mechanics. Running is my passion and I have spent countless hours of time researching and understanding the technical aspects of this art form, I want to share this with you and help you to find the joy of ruining. I work with simple principles, using games (for kids) and drills that instil movement patterns to allow you to feel that natural running gait. Back in primal times, life was simple, people ran to survive, it came naturally and we did in playfulness and as a way of life.
I encourage good running technique over speed and my mission is to change the ever failing ‘no pain, no gain’ mentality. Using cues like breathing and heart rate, I am about ‘no pain, only fun and joy of running’ and working with your body and mind to be the best runner you can be.
